Philemon "Phil" Michener (b. 1980) is the son of Helena and Lysander Michener, a resident of Prophecy Creek, Pennsylvania, a student at Prophecy Creek High School from 1994 to 1998, and a member of the Creek Reader staff.

In June of 1994, he and Carson Weir were kicked out of the Boy Scouts after the two were caught kissing during a camping trip. His father briefly considered hiring a lawyer to file a suit against the Scouts, but Phil convinced him not to, arguing that he wanted no part of an organization that wanted no part of him.

He attended Stanford University from 1998 to 2006, earning a Doctorate in philosophy with a focus on metaphysics. He was elected to serve as the mayor of Prophecy Creek in 2008.

After marriage equality was instituted throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in December of 2012, Phil and Charlie Carmichael became the first same-sex couple married in Philadelphia County on December 22nd.
